WTA Taps new Chief Executive Officer

The Water Transit Authority has selected Steven Castleberry to be it’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Castleberry has over twenty years experience in the planning and design of transportation facilities. For the past three years Steve has been the Deputy Director of the Alameda County Transportation Authority (ACTA). ACTA recently built a community consensus around an extension of Alameda’s half-cent sales tax that resulted in 81% voter support of the

extension. Prior to this assignment, Steve was a program manager with a major consulting firm providing capital improvement project delivery services. He has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of the Pacific and a Masters degree from Stanford in Infrastructure Planning and Management.

He succeeds Thomas Bertken in the post.
