On the Cover

Cheering up Jack London. Famous writer and adventurer Jack London got his start working as a fisherman off the East Bay and is immortalized with this statue at Oakland’s Jack London Square. The sculptor endowed London with a somewhat doleful expression but we swear he seemed to perk up more than a little bit when we posed vivacious UC Berkeley students Kamala Seals (left) and Keshma Williams (right) with him for this month’s cover shot.
